I'm taking over the company blog post today to share with everyone about a new product we are carrying called Permanon, a very potent concentrated surface cleaning and polishing agent. I have been polishing
& waxing cars, motorcycles, boats, anything with an engine for years.
I started in the fifties helping my dad with his cars, who was a stickler
for clean detailed cars. My first car was black and I waxed it constantly.
Waxes back then didn't last long at all and my experience is that even today
they last four to six weeks. Over the years I have owned hundreds of cars. I
bought and sold classics, street rods, muscle cars, and used cars. I
always performed my own detailing. I have spent more time polishing
and waxing than I can begin to count. Removing white powder from the
cracks, rubber, and vinyl with brushes and rags.
It was March of this
year that a couple friends of mine who are industrial suppliers were
hanging out in a car guy's favorite place, the garage. One of them said "I
have some stuff you have got to try on your Corvette." I decided we would
try it on a couple of golf carts first. Impressive. Then I put it on my
motorcycle, looked pretty nice. Next the wife's white Buick
Enclave got the treatment. Everything looked like it had a glass finish
on it. I was so impressed that I finally agreed to do the black Corvette.
The shine was incredible from a product you simply spray on and wipe the excess
water off with a microfiber cloth. I thought, OK, lets see how long it
lasts. No buffing, no rubbing it in. Yea right.
The next day it was
pouring down rain. My wife was running errands and she called me. "What
did you guys put on my car? The rain blows off the windshield and the rain
drops are bouncing off the hood like hail" I told her some stuff John had.
She came home and the car dried in the garage and it still had a crystal
shine. Like it had never been in the rain. A week went by, then two, then
three, finally I washed her car because up close you could see a dirt
film. The water sheeted off the car, and the dirt came off without soap. I
got caught in the same rain on my motorcycle and the water that use to come
over the windshield and hit me in the eyes was now spraying over me like I was
in a cocoon. The first time the bat wing faring and windshield on my Harley
ever really seemed to work efficiently. Plus the bike dried clean! Now I am
curious.
I was having problems
wrapping my head around the no buffing or rubbing the product in but
still getting effects that were equal if not superior to
wax or polish. So went to the Permanon USA website and read about
how it works. A natural mineral 14 SI in nano particles that are naturally
positive charged and electronically bond to the negative charged surface
and fill the microscopic pores. Makes sense I guess, but does it work? The
answer after eight months of testing is yes. It significantly repels
dust and with a resistance of to 572 degrees makes cleaning chrome
rims a breeze. Reduces maintenance at least 50% if not more. Eliminates
waxing and buffing. I have found endless uses and benefits to the Permanon
product line. Applications around the house, the car, the boats, the
motorcycle, I even applied it to an Amish Buggy. That's
right, I have sold Platinum to an Amish lady who uses it on their
buggies. They used to use silicone based products which are dust
magnets to keep the buggies black and shiny. Permanon provides them the
same look, plus rejects dust, and the rain sheets off the windows. Here is
a list of applications and experiences.
The shower glass doors
Permanon Glass and Platinum. The doors stay clean and so does the tile. I have been
treating the showers every three months. I have not had to clean them
for six months other than with a
rag and water.
Sinks, I have it in all
my sinks and on all the fixtures. I retreat them every three months
cleaning with a rag and water.
All appliances and
counter tops are treated with Platinum. Periodic cleaning with soap and
water.
Glass. The windows on
the outside of our house were treated with different products, Permanon Glass,
Supershine Car, and Platinum the first of May. It is mid November now
and they remain crystal clear. That is significant because we live on the lake front.
There is always moisture and I was cleaning once a month. My wife pointed out
that the spiders are not building around the aluminium sills. After she pointed
that out I noticed the same thing on the Yacht Pro treated pontoon and speed
boat. I don't know if they can't attach to it or what but it is a side benefit.
I have been using the glass product on the mirrors, computer screens, TV, my
eyeglasses, cell phone screen, It does phenomenal things to glass. When I do
clean it is with water and a microfiber rag. I also use the glass in the car
and it rejects dust on the dash, oils from your skin, and leaves a natural
to the touch feel unlike the slimy feeling silicone based
protectors. You can add thirty percent alcohol and make it a cleaner as
well.
I cleaned my boats with
PS Paste and sealed all the surfaces with Yacht Supershine Professional. I
carry a bottle of Yacht Pro on the boat to detail after
use. Maintenance has gone from scrubbing with all different chemicals and
sealing with silicone-based products to water and a microfiber towel. I
love this stuff for the boat.
The motorcycle is where
this product really makes a hard job a snap. Once I got my bike clean
I used Platinum at a 5% mixture. I bought a blower at the local Harley
shop. I applied the Permanon and blew the excess water off. Then
touched up with a microfiber towel. Now what used to take a couple of hours is
reduced to minutes. I use the blower to dry the car sometimes as well now.
My cars are all
treated with Platinum. If you have ever put Rain-X on your windshield that is
the closest parallel I can draw to describe effect it has on a
car. The paint looks like it is encapsulated in glass and I
guess according to the science it kind of is. You have to have
the paint looking great before you treat the car because what you see is what
you will get except sealed and shiny. After you get it there and sealed
you will be amazed at the reduction in the need to wash your car. I like
to treat about every three to four months. Some people claim they get up
to eight months from a treatment. The application cost is less than a premium
automatic car wash when you crunch the numbers, so I like to keep that
water sheeting and beading effect fresh.
I could write
about Permanon all day. That is why I titled this the "Permanon Experience".
It is something you have to experience and experiment with to really appreciate
it. The applications are endless. The benefits too extensive to describe.
Savings are realized in time spent when you have to clean, the reduction
in cleaning products needed, reduction in the frequencies of having
to clean, never waxing or polishing again on solid surfaces. Permanon products
